Bow Bridge

Bow Bridge, Leicester over the River Soar
Possibly one of the least glamorous Royal graves. It was said that Richard the Third was thrown off this bridge after losing the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.
Oddly (?) Prince Charles has let it be known he won’t be King Charles III. He claims it has negative connotations with decapitation. That’s nonsense. Charles II was famous restoring the dignity of the monarchy by cavorting with his mistresses. I think it’s probably because Charles the Third, like Richard the Third, lends itself to rhyming slang.
