The Careers Day poster they rejected

Still over­worked. I’m in the Sack­ler Lib­rary today and around lunch I might sprint through the Ash­molean to test my new cam­era. In the mean­time I trawled through my hard drive and found this. I was asked to put together some posters for Careers’ Day in the Archae­ology depart­ment. When I was a stu­dent I always found the “Hey kids! Get a career, it’s a won­der­ful world out there!” posters a bit pat­ron­ising. In the end I put together a few designs around the theme “Don’t let this hap­pen to you.” This was one they didn’t take.

I’m not sure if I still have cop­ies of the one they did take. But that cap­tion for that one said it all: “You’re right that is Larry in the Chicken suit”.
