The Careers Day poster they rejected
Still overworked. I’m in the Sackler Library today and around lunch I might sprint through the Ashmolean to test my new camera. In the meantime I trawled through my hard drive and found this. I was asked to put together some posters for Careers’ Day in the Archaeology department. When I was a student I always found the “Hey kids! Get a career, it’s a wonderful world out there!” posters a bit patronising. In the end I put together a few designs around the theme “Don’t let this happen to you.” This was one they didn’t take.

I’m not sure if I still have copies of the one they did take. But that caption for that one said it all: “You’re right that is Larry in the Chicken suit”.
