Very nice pics, and the audiobooing (audioboos?) works fine. I think Caerleon is going to be on my list of places to go in September …

Some people say that the town of Caerleon was formerly known as the “fortress of the lions”, which became corrupted to “fortress of the legions”. Whatever the truth of this, it is told in local rugby clubs across South-east Wales that after Caradog was betrayed and captured, but before he was sent to Rome, he was thrown to the lions here in Caerleon, and in this very arena.
Three lions were sent against Caradog; two he killed with his bare hands and the third he so terrified that it ran and cowered behind its keepers, howling and crying, and a most piteous sight to see.
So the local governor, being a cruel man and wishing to make an example of Caradog, had him buried to his neck in the middle of the arena, and set the remaining lion on him again. The lion made a great leap but in its fear misjudged the distance and leaped too far, over the head of Caradog. As it landed, Caradog twisted his head around and bit off its private parts. And at this the cry went up around the arena “FIGHT FAIR YOU WELSH BASTARD!”
